Norton Rose Fulbright strengthens banking and restructuring practice with senior consultant Martina Rabe

Germany Press release - People January 2024

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has strengthened its banking and restructuring practice as of 1 January 2024 with the addition of Martina Rabe (54). Rabe has joined the firm's Munich office as senior consultant and will focus on advising clients on financial topics and issues with a focus on restructuring and reorganisation.

Martina Rabe has been working in the restructuring area of banks for over 20 years, most recently in Recovery Management at HypoVereinsbank. With a degree in banking management, she has already worked with both medium-sized companies and international groups, focusing on the management of syndicated loans for restructuring clients, including analysing financial figures and developing financing solutions, process control and stakeholder management in restructuring cases.

As senior consultant at Norton Rose Fulbright, Rabe expands the firm's legal services with a strong financial advisory component. In her role, she will develop customized financing solutions for clients, taking into account stakeholder interests, participate in negotiations and provide support during implementation. In addition, her advisory service will also focus on active crisis prevention.

Martina Rabe says: "Norton Rose Fulbright is one of the world's leading law firms providing advice to the banking sector. I am delighted to be able to contribute my experience to the further development of the practice in the future and am convinced that we will strike a chord in the volatile market with our holistic approach of providing legal and commercial advice from a single source."

Dr. Sylwia Maria Bea-Pulverich, partner and Co-Head of Restructuring EMEA at Norton Rose Fulbright, comments: "With the addition of Martina Rabe, we are creating a comprehensive range of advisory services, which in this form is a novelty in the restructuring market. Changing economic conditions and increasingly frequent global crisis situations require us as a law firm to be able to support our clients not only from a purely legal perspective, but also with sound financial expertise. We are delighted to have gained an outstanding colleague in Martina Rabe, who brings with her many years of experience in restructuring advice and a broad network in the banking sector."

The hiring of Martina Rabe is a first step for Norton Rose Fulbright to further expand its restructuring advisory services this year. The firm plans to further strengthen the team later this year.
